Acting

Hi guys! Hope you are all having a great week! Today in my blog I am going to writing about what I have learned from the book we are reading in class about acting. As most you know acting is an important key in having a successful film. I know for myself if I am watching a film not with great acting I usually totally uninterested and find myself turning off the film. Good acting doesn't act like acting at all, which is really hard to do. Becoming a professional actors takes a lot of work and commitment. Actors have to spend a lifetime of training by perfecting their technique  and honing their bodies to be the perfect instrument of their craft.

Acting began as early as 534 BC stepping onto the stage in Athens, Greece. Actors had a challenging time with acting in front of a camera because they were used to going big with their expression so the audience in all seats could see their expressions and gestures. Over the years editors have learned how to move the camera in ways to draw the audience deeper in the story. During the begging of filmmaking it was common to have a more theatrical style of acting on the screen which worked for movie goers at that time because they were used to that acting.

There are currently two schools of acting. These are the classical school of acting and Stanislavski Method. The classical school of acting emphasis on the text and precision of performance. The Stanislavski Method is known to be emotionally oriented. The reading made an interesting point of that cinema required dozens of professionals to work together to create a finished product, but out of all these talented individuals you can only name the main actors in the film. This point made me realize that I need to be more ware and informed about others in the film because they play a huge role in the production of films.
