Rear Window

Hi! Recently in class we watched the movie Rear Window. I really enjoyed this film as it was something I have never heard about before but am glad I had the opportunity to watch it. I believe this movie was so interesting because of the way the scenes were set up and how the camera angles were based out of Jeffries apartment. Jeffries had a recent accident which had left him in a cast and immobilized throughout the movie. Jeffries became bored so he started staring out his apartment window looking into other people's lives.

One of the best angle shots that stood out to me in the movie was when Jeffries and his "girlfriend" Lisa were both staring outside of his apartment window. Lisa at first was getting concerned about how much time Jeffries was staring outside his window until she started believing him about some of the stories he had been seeing. Jeffries was sure that his neighbor Mr. Thorwald had killed his wife. Lisa was the only person that believed Jeffries. They started staring out his window every evening to gather more evidence on Mr. Throwald until he was found guilty for killing his wife.

This scene also gives you an idea on Jeffries and Lisa's relationship. Jeffries didn't want to be with Lisa because he believed that he deserved someone better and not just someone who lives such a simple life as himself. Here you can see Lisa getting a good look on what was going on in Mr. Thorwalds apartment and wanted to help Jeffries find that Mr. Throwald is guilty. Lisa would spend a good amount of time and also even risk her life for Jeffries, which we saw in the movie.
